Refers to the range of different habitats from a small local habitat to the whole of the Earth
Species richness
The number of different species in a particular area at a given time
Habitat
The place where an organism normally loves and which is characterised by physical conditions and the types of other organisms present
Interspecific variation
When one species differs from one species to another
Intraspecific variation
When members of the same species differ from each other
