Cells - Cell structure: Eukaryotic Cells Flashcards
What are eukaryotic cells?
Cells which contains a distinct nucleus and possess membrane-bound organelles.
Which 4 organelles are found in plants cells but not animal cells?
Chloroplasts
Plasmodesma
Vacuole
Cell Wall
Which organelle is found in animal cells but not plant cells?
Centrioles
Name two types of organism made of eukaryotic cells
Animals
Plants
What are the 2 differences between plant cells and fungal cells?
Fungal cells have cell walls made of chitin not cellulose
Fungal cells don’t have chloroplasts as they don’t photosynthesise
How can you use organelles to deduce the role of a cell?
By looking at the number and size of organelles it contains.
What would a cell with many mitochondria suggest about the role of the cell?
The cell requires a lot of ATP, so has a high metabolism.
