NBHWC scope of practice

A
  • Client centered process to facilitate and empower the client to develop and achieve self determined goals related to health and wellness
  • Health and wellness coaches do not diagnose prescribe treatments or psychological interventions but may provide extra guidance in areas which they hold active recognize credentials
  • As partners and facilitators help coaches support their clients in achieving health goals and behavioral change based on their clients all goals and consistent treatment plans. (See scope of practice)

Managing rules and dual relationships

A

-A professional coaching relationship exist when coaching includes an agreement that defines right role responsibilities of each party
-Any conflict of interest should be stated clearly and openly discuss with all parties
-Play rules and set boundaries
-Avoid any sexual or romantic relationship with current clients
Dual relationships not always unethical but best practice to avoid and discuss any conflict of interest
