ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF PROBABLE CAUSE Flashcards
An operator must know and understand
the goals of the LEA and the Specific Information Requirements (SIR) tasked to GRD to provide the best possible support to a LEA drug trafficking investigation.
EEPC are the most useful items of a detailed description of persons, vehicles, objects, and activities that will allow
a law enforcement person to stop and search, detain and question, or arrest a person for criminal acts.
Drug interdiction operations involve
operators providing LEA with timely and accurate information about suspected drug trafficking activity.
Intelligence Gathering
operation s involve operators observing an area suspected by LEA of being used for drug trafficking activities. LEAs have little or no information about the suspects and the activity.
Priority of information for reporting EEPC
The priority of information for reporting EEPC is based on what a law enforcement person will see when he is looking for the subjects involved in suspected activity that an operator has reported.
Distance, the route, and the time a suspect vehicle must travel
before a LEA mobile surveillance or interdiction vehicle can intercept it.
