Q
Identify
A
- Thyroid follicles containing colloid/thyroglobulin are present.
- Follicular lining cells produce thyroglobulin.
- Parafollicular or C cells are found between follicles.
- C cells produce calcitonin. C cells are larger and lighter than follicular lining cells.

Q
Identify
A
The parathyroid glands consist of rows/cords/clumps of chief cells which secrete parathormone (PTH). Many capillaries can be found in close association with these endocrine cells.

Q
Identify
A
Adrenal Gland
10
Q
Identify
A
Pancreatic islets of Langerhans
- found among the exocrine acini.
- These endocrine cells look similar when stained with routine stains such as HE but they produce specific hormone:
- alpha cells secrete glucagon
- beta cells secrete insulin
- delta cells secrete somatostatin
- F cells secrete pancreatic polypeptide
