- Acute (Fast and abrupt)
- Subacute (Slow and less pronounced)

- Fever
- Fatigue
- Joint pain
- Edema/rash of feet, legs, and abdomen
- Weakness
- Anemia
- Abnormal heartbeat

A
- Enlarged spleen over time
- Clubbed fingers and toes due to lack of oxygen in the blood

- rough toothbrushing
- Dental procedures
- Minor cuts/laceration
- Rhumontic fever

- Infection of valves, mitral valve, aortic valve
