Research to support dispositional explanation was conducted by Milgram and Elms. They conducted a test on the original participants of Milgrams experiment by instructing them to take an F- Scale questionnaire. They found that the higher the score the higher their authoriatism was, high authoritism was found in obedient individuals (went up to 450v.)

However participants had a number of characteristics not found in authoritian personality. For eg, the obedient individuals didn’t experience a high level of punishment so authoritian personality is way more complex
