What is the circulatory system made up of?
The heart, Blood vessels and blood.
What does the right ventricle do?
Pumps deoxygenated blood to the lungs to take in oxygen.
What does the left ventricle do?
Pumps oxygenates blood around all the other organs of the body.
How does the heart pump blood round the body?
By contracting.
What are the walls of the heart mainly made up of?
Muscle tissue
What are the valves for?
Making sure blood doesn’t flow backwards.
Where does the blood firstly flow into?
The vena cava and the pulmonary vein.
How does the blood get from the ventricles into the aorta?
The ventricles contract, pumping the blood onwards into the pulmonary artery and the aorta then out of the heart.
The heart itself also need what?
It’s own supply of oxygenated blood.
