A

Develops 12 to 48 hours after initial symptoms

First appears on chest and stomach before spreading

A
  • very contagious (keep children off school for at least 24 hours after starting antibiotic
  • Avoid sharing towels and clothes
  • Cover mouth when sneezing and coughing
