Impacted by Kennedy’s assassination. Mostly democrats and lots of protests because of the draft. People thought they could make a difference and went to Republicans as Democrats became liberal
The New Deal Coalition
Americans who voted for FDR.
The Younger Generation
9/11 and Afghanistan/Iraq impacted them. Counter-terrorism measures. This lead to patriotism. 50% think the US should stay out of world affairs.
The 2003 Iraq Invasion
Searching for weapons post 9/11.
The Great Recession
Failing economy and less faith in the government.
