A multi-country agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. However, the Senate didn’t get enough votes so the US didn’t sign.
Paris Agreement
Climate agreement. Obama agreed to it without the Senate, and Trump left it without the Senate. Some say it was never official without the Senate. However, some states followed the Paris Agreement anyways.
Describe the regulations on marijuana and how voters have voted on it.
Voters have started to agree to legalize marijuana on the state level. Marijuana is taxed and most states have it criminalized.
Controlled Substances Act
An attempt to control drugs. Lots of drugs (including marijuana) were put into a category of potential harm. Only 12% of polled people liked it.
Gonzales v. Ralch (2005)
Commerce Clause lets Congress decide what can be bought and sold. Marijuana being criminalized is therefore legal.
