Churches show political ideas to people and church goers are more likely to vote. Religions can also be political and some civic institutions cater to specific people.

Civil War impacted political beliefs. The Northeast is liberal and South is conservative Christians. The South cares about farming a lot.

Expanding and interacting with the world economy.
