Named himself a candidate for Virginia’s ratifying convention. Talked about his worries about factions.
Anti-Federalist Opposition to the Constitution
Wanted a government like the Articles of Confederation. Feared having an execute branch (having a king) and wanted to have strong states and a weak national government.
Brutus No. 1
Argued against the Constitution. Necessary and Proper Clause gave the federal government too much power. Didn’t protect personal liberties and said that a republic this big would mean that people didn’t know their leaders.
