bedside stand

inside bedside stand
wash basin, emesis basin, soap dish and soap, bath blanket, toilet paper, personal hygiene items
overbed table
used for meals or personal care, consider cleaned and must be kept clean and free of clutter
occupied bed
bed made while resident is still in bed, should use wide stance and bend knees to avoid injury, height of bed should be raised to make it easier/safer
unoccupied bed
bed made while no resident is in bed
closed bed
bed completely made with bedspread and blankets in place
open bed
converted from closed bed, by folding the linen down to foot of bed, a bed that is ready to receive a resident who has been out of bed all day or who is being admitted to the facility
surgical bed
bed made to accept residents who are returning to bed on stretchers or gurneys, opened to receive residents by loosening the linens on one side and folding them to the other side, which leaves one side open
