  • done at the beginning of every shift
  • uses a small quantity of test gas over the instrument to warrant that it responds as it should trigger an audible and visual alarms
  • typically takes 60-90secs to complete

A1 Alarm - low level alarm

A
  • sounds if the concentration amount is higher than normal but does not constitute an acute hazard
  • audible, visual and vibration alarms activate and repeat
  • to acknowledge/silence press “OKon” once

A2 Alarm - High-Level Alarm

A

signals danger of death - leave immediately

  • audible (double tone), visual and vibration alarms activate and repeat
  • alarm CANNOT be acknowledge until air quality improves to below the high alarm level

Over-Range Alarm

A
  • indicates the ambient air contains concentrations exceeding the measuring range of the sensor used
  • leave the danger zone immediately
  • the over-range symbol alternates in the display with an “A2” main alarm sound
  • An “A2” alarm cannot be acknowledged

Under-Range Alarm

A
  • indicates the measuring range is not reached
  • the can occur if a fresh air calibration is being carried out in a range in which concentrations are already present
  • an under-range alarm cannon be acknowledged

error code

A
  • An “X” symbol in the top right of the display indicates an error
  • press “OKon” for 3 secs, an error code will be displayed
  • contact HazTech for all Drager error code concerns
  • if a code is displayed, press “+M” button to abort the code and return to measuring mode
