CCW Flashcards
What are CCW design temperatures and pressures?
- 140F - Max
- 65F - Min
- 150 psig
What is the functional requirement of CCW post-DBA?
Cooling to SDC system to have within 24 hours a containment pressure 50% or less of the design pressure.
What removes heat from the CCW Heat Exchangers?
‘A’ Critical Service Water Header
What are the CCW Temperature Control Valves?
- CV-0821/CV-0822, E-54A and E-54B TCV
- Maintains CCW 72ºF to 88ºF.
- For PCP seal stability
- Fail Closed on Loss of Air
- Fail Closed on Loss of D-11-2
What is the purpose, design and capacity of T-3, CCW Surge Tank?
- Surge volume based on CCW temperature rise from 60F to 140F
- NPSH for CCW pumps.
- Holds 1,230 gallons.
- Design pressure 25 psig.
- P-79A/B makeup capacity of 300 gpm.
What is normal operating level of T-3?
47% - 74%
Where is T-3, CCW Surge Tank vented?
- To aux building via CV-0915.
- Alarm on RE-0915, SV-0915 de-energizes and venting is to waste gas collection header.
- Indicating lights only in CR. No controls.
At what pressure does T-3, CCW Surge Tank relieve?
20 psi lifts RV-0915 - goes to waste gas collection header.
What supplies T-3, CCW Surge Tank?
T-81, Primary System Makeup Storage Tank.
What are CCW Heat Exchanger DP limits?
Maximum allowable flow through the shell side of the CCWHX is 4700 gpm each.
This corresponds to a ΔP across the CCWHX of:
- 24.1 psid for E-54A
- 22.0 psid for E-54B
What are the CCW pump minimum discharge pressure limits with one pump operating and one heat exchanger?
115 psig
What are the CCW pump minimum discharge pressure limits with one pump operating and two heat exchangers?
102 psig
What are the CCW pump minimum discharge pressure limits with two pumps operating and two heat exchangers?
115 psig
What are the CCW pump minimum discharge pressure limits with three pumps operating and two heat exchangers?
129 psig
What happens to CCW on SIAS?
- All three pumps start.
- CV-0944, 0944A and 0977B close.
- SD Cooling Inlet CV-0937/0938 open
- CV-0913 and CV-0950 ESS Pump Seal & Bearing Cooling inlet/outlet get open signals.
What happens to CCW pumps on SIAS with loss of offsite power?
- P-52A and P-52B start within 23 seconds of EDG start
- P-52C gets standby signal at 40 seconds and will start if low pressure signal is present from 40 to 42 seconds after EDG start.
- Same as Loss of Offsite Power without SIAS.
What happens to CCW on CHP?
CV-0910 CCW to Containment and CV-0911/CV-0940 CCW from Containment get a close signal.
Will Close if in AUTO
Will remain open if in OPEN
Will open if in AUTO and CHP reset
What happens to CCW on RAS?
- CV-0945/0946 CCW inlets get open signal
- CV-0823/0826 SW High Caps go full open
- SW TCV valves CV-0821/0822 go closed.
On loss of DC to SV-0945/0946 what happens?
CV-0945/0946 CCW inlets fail open on loss of air.
What controls CV-0821/0822?
- TIC-0821 normally operated with output air at 5-13 psig.
- 3 psig is full closed. 15 psig is full open.
- Fails Closed on loss of Air
- Fails Closed on Loss of D-11-2
What are CV-0937 & CV-0938?
CV-0937 & CV-0938
- SDC HT Exchanger Inlets.
- Right Channel SIAS opens CV-0937
- Left Channel SIAS opens CV-0938
- Situated in parallel.
- Open on loss of air.
What is CV-0944A?
CV-0944A
- CCW to SFP and RW Evaps.
- Fails closed on loss of air.
What is CV-0944?
CV-0944
- CCW to Radwaste Evaps.
- Fails closed on loss of air.
- Cannot be reopened until SIAS reset.
