How many posterior spinal arteries are there?
2
How many anterior spinal arteries are there?
1
Where do vertebral canal branches go and where do they come from?
Come from the spinal artery and either anteriorly or posteriorly into the spinal canal
posterior vertebral canal branch
anterior vertebral canal branch
Where do radicular arteries go? Where do they come from?
supply roots and rootlets (do NOT go to anterior or posterior spinal arteries)
come from spinal arteries
anterior radicular arteries
posterior radicular arteries
Where do segmental medullary arteries go?
connect to anterior or posterior spinal arteries
posterior segmental medullary arteries
anterior segmental medullary arteries
What do nutrient arteries do?
What are they produced by?
supply the marrow cavity of the vertebral body
from anterior vertebral canal branch
What are the paraspinal arteries that produce spinal branches?
VADPSLIL vertebral A. Ascending Cervical A. Deep Cervical A. Posterior Intercostal A. Subcostal A. Lumbar A. Iliolumbar A. Lateral Sacral A.
What is the external vertebral venous plexus/ where is it?
anterior and posterior
outside of the vertebra; communicates freely w/ internal vertebral plexus; emptyies into intervertebral veins
What is the internal vertebral venous plexus/where is it?
inside the vertebra; anterior and posterior
drains a and p medullary and radicular Vs.
empties into intervertebral Vs or cranial dural venous sinuses
What do medullary veins do?
drain spinal veins into internal vertebral venous plexus
anterior and posterior
What do radicular veins do?
communicate w/ internal vertebral venous plexus
anterior and posterior
