AKA dengerative joint disease
- when cartilage in the joint is broken down
- most common type of arthritis
- occurs mostly in older animals and humans

non-steroidal, antiinflammatories, polysulfated glycosaminaglycans, intra-articluar steroids, and IV hyaluronic acid

swelling, joint, scarring, restricted motion
