Type 1= Anaphylactic

A

Ag initiates IgE response
Sensitisation= innate+ IgM response
Th2 cells release IL-4 which stimulates B cells to make IgE+ sensitise mast cells
Allergen binds to IgE releasing histamine
Leukotrienes+ prostaglandins stimulate eosinophils

Type 2= Cytotoxic

A

IgG/M response against self+foreign Ag on cell surface
Complement activated and NK cells triggered
Get cell lysis+necrosis
Often due to penicillin or Rhesus

Type III= Immune Complex

A

IgG/M response against soluble Ag
Get vasculitis
Causes= serum sickness, SLE
Symps depends on where complex is

Commonly nickel+ contact dermatitis
