7.4 Flashcards
order of stages of cellular respiration
glycolysis, Krebs cycle, etc
inputs and outputs of glycolysis
inputs: sugar/glucose
outputs: 2 pyruvates, atp
inputs and outputs of krebs cycle
inputs: acetyl COA
outputs: Carbon dioxide, Atp, FADH, NADH
inputs and outputs of etc
inputs: NADH, FADH, ADP, oxygen
outputs: NAD+, FAD, water, ATP
where does glycolysis take place?
cytoplasm
where does Krebs cycle take place?
inside mitocondria
where does etc take place?
inside mitocondria
chemical equation for respiration
C6H12O6 + O2 = ATP + CO2 + H2O
How do your cells produce ATP with oxygen or no oxygen
More atp with oxygen because all the processes can take place, no oxygen only glycolysis
How does the structure of the mitochondria help with in producing atp
It helps the hydrogen ions to build up so they can transfer to the high to low concentration through the ATP synthase enzyme
