Bilateral - extend neck and head
Unilateral - flexes and rotates to the same side

C4-T7 transverse processes
Insertion of semispinalis capitis?
Occipital bone
Action of semispinalis capitis?
Both - extend cervical spine
One - bend to same side and rotate to opposite side
Origin of longissimus capitis?
T1-T3 and C4-C7 transverse processes
Insertion of longissimus capitis?
Mastoid processes
Action of longissimus capitis?
Both - extends head
One - flexes and rotates head to same side
