Video Card/Graphic Adapter
Gives quality signal for monitors
GPU
A specialized processor designed to accelerate graphics rendering. Includes High Speed Memory (Embeds the memory to give additional capability to offload from the system)
Graphical Ports on GPU
Installed outside of the card
Video Capture Card
Takes video signals and processes them inside the computer, Used for recording footage and security devices
Sound/Audio card
Gives better output through audio. Not that common nowadays
Network Interface Card (NIC)
Many shapes and sizes:
- RJ45 port up to 10 Gbps
ST/SC/MT-RJ
- Supports fiber card
Riser Card
special type of expansion card on a motherboard (can change orientation for installing other expansion cards (ex. from horizontal to vertical))
