severe - >6/day, tachycardia/ fever/ abdo tender/ abdo distention/ De bowel sounds/ anaemia/ hypoalbuminaemia

UC - crypt abscesses, goblet cell depletion, mucosal inflam
CD - transmural inflam, lymphoid hyperplasia, granuloma
meningitis - CSF

bact - cloudy, low glucose, high protein, 10-5000 polymorphs
viral - clear/ cloudy, 60-80% plasma glucose, normal/ raised protein, 12-1,000 lymphocytes
TB - slight cloudy/ fibrin web, low glucose, high protein, 10-1,000 lymphocytes
fungal - cloudy, low glucose, high protein, 20-200 lymphocytes
