White Belt Self Defense Flashcards
how-to hold hands for self-defense?
&
what to say?
non-aggressive (i.e. open hands (facing away from your face), left-hand further away, but up near face, right-hand close to body, just below face …(it shouldn’t look like “karate” …but high enough, in case you need to protect yourself): “I don’t want to fight”, “I don’t want any trouble”
Defense against Right (or Left) Round House Punch?
At this point he wants to see us do this quickly …we shouldn’t have to think through it and move slowly anymore!
After starting with non-aggressive (open-hands) and saying, “I don’t want to fight”, “I don’t want any trouble”:
Double Inside Block (the punch with both forearms, pushing the punch away with both hands as fists)
one forearm against the middle of their forearm (pressure-point) the other forearm against the middle of their bicep.
Goose-neck the neck (grab neck firmly w/ right-hand curled, holding your forearm across their throat)
grab the tricep (left hand)
knee and recover
(pull their body down into your knee as you put your hips into it (and say, “PAY”);
push them back just before you recover …so they’re slightly off-balance…
recover with open hands and repeat, “I don’t want to fight”
)
