Attention (stance)
Korean: cha ryuht!

communicates focus and concentration
Bow
bend at waist
but don’t “roll”
think of making a single-crease in paper (as if you were making a paper airplane)
fold body like paper (no rolling)
and, fwiw, contrary to Bruce Lee, look at ground…

Ready Position
Start with your hands under your chin
right-foot up
step out to the right
(say, “Tstee” <– snake spitting sound) as position your two-hands* at 45degree angles in front at belt-level
*Note: in final position, hands are one-knife-hand (one-inch) apart
communicates ready to take action
Sparing Stance
(Left foot forward) Right foot back, hands up near chin (a basic boxing stance) (say, “Ay Yah”)
To get there from Ready position, simply slide right-foot back!
Salute
After placing left-hand over right-side-of-chest,
teacher says, “Un dong gut!” A good workout!
And we respond: “Kamap Sumida” (thank you)
