Tonight (1st Tuesday class) started with Sub a nim Matthew
(he was pushing us to stretch more than “comfort level” he claimed he could “sense” that we could stretch more!
Cho ga nim Jose, was very kind. Said I did a good job! (he complimented me on my fighting system:
jabs, cross, bob&weave, hook, cross..etc
Saturday’s Kwan Ja Nim Jerry (sp?) (brother from Mountain view)
Also Bu Kwan Ja Nim Brad (very helpful …performed the punching sequences with me, using “pizza slicing” (stepping in and out of the “danger zone” …and around the outside edge of the pizza/clock-face)
Brad also helped me to get a better grip on the self-defense technique: not just touch the shoulder/neck, but hook it and control it, and after the knee to “push” my opponent back, as I step back into a non-aggressive stance…
why bow?
to communicate respect;
(respect teaches us to be kind & courteous)
i come with an open heart & mind to learn; and I respect my teacher (and teachers are showing mutual respect when they bow back)
