A
  • Glutamate activates Ca receptors
  • depolarisation = Ca influx = more glutamate
  • Na entry = more Ca
  • depolarisation inhibits/ reverses glutamate uptake = extracellular [] increased
  • Ca/Na pump counteract rise in Ca []
  • mitochondria disruption = reduction in energy to pumps
