A
- s. pneumoniae, h. influenzae, s. aureus
- acuut koortsend ziektebeeld, vaak productieve hoest en opgeven purulent sputum, lobulair infiltraat op X-thorax

Atypische CAP
A
- mycoplasma, chlamydia, legionella, influenza, RSV, adenovirus, corona, pneumocystis jirovecci, tbc
- acuut/semi-acuut/chronisch koortsend ziektebeeld, niet productieve hoest, zelden opgeven purulent sputum, diffuse infiltratieve afwijkingen op X-thorax

PJP
A
- meest voorkomende opportunistische infectie bij pneumonie bij patiënten met AIDS
- door CD4 gestuurde macrofagen ruimen PJP op
- PJP plakt aan de alveoluswand mbv 2 adhesieve glycoproteïnen -> inflammatoir proces met destructie van de alveoluswand en verstoring van de gaswisseling
- complicatie: cystevorming in alveoli -> kan makkelijk klappen -> pneumothorax
- behandeling: O2, cotrimoxazol
