What does pantothenic acid deficiency present as?
poor growth, poor hair growth and coat condition, adrenocortical insufficiency, paresthesia
In what species is pantothenic acid deficiency a real possibility?
poultry
Why can poultry get pantothenic acid deficient?
because they have a fast rate of passage through the GI tract causing lack of uptake
What does pantothenic acid deficiency present as in poultry?
decreased egg hatchability and embryonic death, scaly legs, crusts/scabs at the angle of the beak and eyes
What species is goose-stepping as a sign of pantothenic acid deficiency?
pigs, but it is rarely seen
