Grapes are dried out on the vine through, late harvest until they are raisinated. Wine is partially fermented and then arrested with the addition of grape spirit. Then aged in barrels while being exposed to heat, similar to Madeira.

King Valley is in Central Victoria. It is a region that has Italian heritage and has Pinot Grigio, Barbara and Nebbiolo planted here. They are also making “Prosecco” fro Glera grape. The King River flows into the Victorian Alps. The climate is hot and continental near the valley floor, but the Whitelands Plateau does go up to 800m. The soils here are deep red clay.
