The laws were overhauled in 1996 allowing different sweetness levels to be produced rather than just dry wines. The introduction of manual harvesting, and the lowered minimum alcohol from 12% to 10%.

This region is southwest of Menetou Salon in the Central vineyards. There is a river here called the Arron. This region is must lower altitude than Sancerre and is harvested 10 days earlier.
What is the soils type of Reuilly? How is it different from Sancerre?
There is active lime in the soil which quickens ripening. Grapes ripen up to 10 days earlier than in Sancerre. Reuilly is on the extremity of the Portlandian limestone chain. Coteaux de Giennois, Pouilly-Sur-Loire, Sancerre and Menetou-Salon are all on this chain as well.
