There are big diurnal changes and harvest can be up to a month earlier here than in Hunter Valley. The soils are sandy loam over clay. Cab and Shiraz are the most planted.

Where in Australia is Chambourcin grown and why?
In the Shoalhaven Coast GI which is the most southerly region in NSW. The climate here is moderated by the ocean. There is higher rainfall and humidity so fungal disease is an issue. Chambourcin can withstand this environment. Hastings River also has Chambourcin planted.
