Animals with a backbone
What are features of fish?
Scales, fins, eyes and natural line. Jelly covered eggs, external fertilisation, ectothermic, gills for gas exchange.
What are features of amphibians?
Moist skin, four limbs, eyes and ears. Breeds in water, Jelly covered eggs, external fertilisation, ectothermic, lungs/skin for gas exchange.
What are features of reptiles?
Dry scaly skin, for limbs (not snakes), eyes and ears. Lays eggs on land, soft shell eggs, internal fertilisation, ectothermic, longs for gas exchange.
What are features of birds?
Feathers (scales on legs), two wings, two legs, eyes and years. Very few are aquatic, hardshell eggs, internal fertilisation, endothermic, longs for gas exchange.
What are features of mammals?
Fur or hair, four limbs, eyes and ears, nipples. Very few aquatic, live young, endothermic, lungs for gas exchange, feed young with milk from mammary glands.
What are the five types of vertibrate animals.
