A
The second control system (after the nervous system), with actions that uses hormones for long term processes.

How does the endocrine system function?
A
A series of glands around the body secrete hormones into the blood stream. When they travel round, they only act upon their target organs.

What does adrenaline affect metabolic activity?
A
+ Skin becomes pale as blood diverts away from skin.
+ Deeper, more rapid breathing
+ Heart beats more rapidly
+ Blood is diverted away from digestive system.
+ Adrenal glands secrete adrenalin
+ Glycogen in muscles converted to glucose.
