Q

What is the binomial naming system?

A

It was first applied by Carl Linnaeus and is the naming system where each organism is given a two part name. The first name always has a capital starting letter, and represents the genius of the organism. The second specific name is descriptive and always starts with a lowercase letter. Both words are in italics.
