- beta blockers(metoprolol)
- diuretics (furosemide)
- ACE-I(lisionpril)
- blood thinners (ASA, warfarin)
- antiarrhythmics (sotalol, amiodarone, flecainide)

- valve replacement (mechanical vs bioprosthetic)
- valve repair (ross procedure)

- used for younger patients

- requires warfarin therpay (repeat checks of INR)
