causes of primary ammennorrhea
gonadal dysgenesis, congenital mullerian agenesis, testicular feminization, hypothalmic piutuitary ovarian axis disorder
secondary ammennorhea
absense of menstruation for a minimum of 6mo in a women who has allready had a period
causes of secondary ammennorhea
oviarian, pituitary, hypothalmic dysfx, intrauterine adhesion, infection, pituitary tumor, anorexia, intense exercise
why my exercise cause ammennorhea

dx for ammennorhea
hx px endocrinology pregnancy test US of endometrium endometrial biopsy hysteroscopy, progesterone withdrawl
tx for ammenorhea
underlying cause
cyclic progesterone or estrogen/progesterone
primary dysmennorrhea
menstrual pain that is not associated with physical abn
when does primary dysmennorrhea occur
with ovulatory menstruation and begins 6mo-2yrs after first periods
systemic mnfts of primarydysmennorea
headaches, NV, diarrhea, fatigue, irritability, dizziness, syncope
what type of pain is in dysmennorhea
dull, collicky, spasmodic that radiates to lower back, labia majora, upper thights.
secondary dysmennoreha
menstrual pain caused by spec condition
what conditions can cause secondary dysmen
endometriosis, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, pelvic adhesion, IUD, PID
what causes pain in secondary dysmen
excessive prostaglandin formation causing painful contraction of uterus and arteriolar vasospasm
