Quantitive Data
This is the amount of data that is being analyzed
Examples: QUANTitative = QUANtity
Qualitative Data
This involves data that is descriptive which is often times based off of people’s opinions
Examples: Field operations, media reports, travel narratives, policy documents, personal interviews, landscape analysis, and visuals
Census
This when the population of areas taken by the U.S. Cenus Bureau every ten years. This is required as per the U.S. Constitution
Geographic Information Systems
This technology is used to collect data about specific places across the globe
Examples: GIS captures, stores, organizes, and displays the geo data
Topography
The land surfaces physical features & shape. Also it can showcase data about people who live in a specific place
Examples: Age, ethnicity, income, & family size
Remote Sensing
Majority of remote sensing used involve satellites or air craft based censors that help collect data
Global Positioning System
The (GPS) uses how long it takes to receive a transmitted signal to measure the distance to each satellite. Then the receiver uses that to pinpoint the exact location of the receiver
Examples: GPS is a positioning system on several technology
