Q

How did the distribution of organisms change with availability water

A

Distribution of some animals and plant species in the tropics change between wet and dry season when there is more or less rainfall so more or less water available

Q

How much the distribution of organisms change with the temperature

A

The distribution of bird species in Germany is changing because of the rise in average temperatures

Q

How does a change in the composition of atmospheric gases affect the distribution of an organism

A

The distribution of some species changes in areas where there is more air pollution
some species of lichen can’t grow in areas where sulphur dioxide is given out by certain industrial processes

Q

Water cycle

A

Energy from the Sun makes water evaporate turn into water vapour
Water also evaporates from plants known as transpiration
Warm water vapour is carried upwards when it gets high enough it cools and condenses to form clouds
Water falls from clouds is precipitation onto land where it provides fresh water the plants and animals
Then drains into the sea for the whole process to start again

11
Q

What conditions help decay happen faster

A

Warm, moist, aerobic (oxygen rich) conditions because microorganisms are more active in these conditions

Q

What happens when plants and algae respire

A

Some carbon is returned to the atmosphere as CO2

17
Q

What happens to the carbon when plants and algae are eaten by animals

A

The carbon moves through the food chain

18
Q

What happens when animals respire

A

Some carbon his return to the atmosphere as CO2

19
Q

When plants algae and animals die and other animals (detritus feeders) and What else feed on there remains

A

Micro organisms when these organisms respire CO2 is returned into the atmosphere

20
Q

What is animals waste also broken down by

A

Detritus feeders And microorganisms

21
Q

What does the combustion of warden fossil fuels release into the atmosphere

A

CO2

22
Q

What is carbon energy constantly being cycle from

A

The air through food chains and eventually back into the air again
