The balance between the energy it gets from the sun and the energy it radiates back out
How do gases in the atmosphere act as an insulating layer
Absorb most of energy that would normally be radiated out into space and re radiate it in all directions including back to earth
What would happen if we didn’t have an insulating layer
At night there’d be nothing to keep energy in so it’d quickly get cold

Methane and carbon dioxide as the levels of these are rising extremely quickly
