Topic 16 - Connective tissue : cell types Flashcards
CT cell types
- Fixed: fibroblast, fibrocyte, mesenchymal and adipose cells 2 første mest vanlig
- Free: macrophages, mast cells, plasma cells, melanocytes and lymphocytes, moncytes and granulocytes
Fibroblast
metabolic active, reound cell and nucleus
Fibrocyte
metabolic less active, slender cell and nucleus, less organelles.
Mesenchymal cells
pluripotent and undifferentiated, around blood vessels.
Serve as reservoir for cells able to differentiate into connective tissue cell types
Adipose cells
single or in groups. sphericalor polyhedron, with a large lipid droplet with thin cytoplasm. may form a seperate tissue: adipose tissue-
Macrophages
fixed in no reactive CT: motile upo stimulation. Specific to certain organs. liver, lungs, lymph nodes.
Mast cells
surround blood vessels of skin and intestine.
Large metachromatic granules
Plasma cells
Develope from B-lumphocytes to produce antibodies. found in loose CT og gi tract, respiratory system and lymphatic tissue
Melanocytes
Large pigmented cells. Originate from neural crest. found in dermisis meninges choroid and iris
lymphocytes, moncytes and granulocytes
are also seen temrarily in CT
