A
a ‘mock up’pf your final product- usually made using cheap fabric such as calico

why are toiles useful?
A
-they show how the finished product may look
-help identify modifications and what needs to be changed before the product is actually made
-costs can be estimated based on production methods
-number of pattern pieces are evaluated and reduced to make it less expensive
-allows designer to indentify most efficient methods and procedures for manufacture
