used to make one off garments and other unique products for a customer (e.g a wedding dress)

a limited number of the same product is made during a particular period of time

manufacturing in large quantities over a long period of time

A
a separate manufacturing line that makes small sections of a product e.g collars

involves the constant manufacture of products and would normally be carried out using fully automated machinery- it can go on over night
