Q

ways to treat and manage EPI

A

suppliment pancreatic enzymes, (pancreazyme, viokase), feed high digestibility food (low fiber, low fat, good protein), suppliment vitamins (esp fat soluble ones), antibiotics for bacterial growth (metronidazole)

16
Q

ways to increase calories in feed for cancer patients

A

add chicken fat, season w garlic (not in cats, causes heinz body hemolytic anemia), warm food to increase palatability, science n/d

17
Q

TLI blood levels of pancreatitis v EPI

A

pancreatitis: high (chronic persistant: low)
EPI: low

18
Q

what is jaundice

A

back up of billirubin (normally made by RBC breakdown, normally goes thro liver to be detoxified and excreted)
