What is the main theory of the Ringelmann effect?
A
Individual effort levels drop in a group as group size increases
E.g. Tug of war - The more people there are on a side, the lower the individual effort per person

What is social loafing?
A
Some group members will hide or feel lost behind teammates and drop their individual effort levels

What are some methods to overcome these losses? (5)
A
1) Individual statistics (passes, tackles, shots on target etc…)
2) Individual feedback
3) Individual goals
4) Peer support and encouragement
5) Increase social interactions in group (get on well with each other)
