What are outcome / competition (performance) goals?

What are short term goals?

What is the SMART principle?
Specific - Goals should be specific to the individual, the sport and particular focus need to improve performance, goals need to be clear
Measurable - So it can be assessed and progress can be monitored, this helps with motivation
Achievable - Must be set within the reach of the performer, it is a shared process that ensures the goals are not too easy or too hard
Recorded - So progress can be monitored
Time phased - So enough time is given to achieve the goal and longer goals are split into short term goals which progress
