Q

What is the liver tissue composed of?

A

Liver tissue is composed of thousands of hepatic lobules which have hexagonal shape, and each lobule is made up of cuboidal cells called hepatic cells (hepatocytes).

Q

What are the functions of the liver tissue components?

A

The function of hepatocytes is mainly is bile formation.
The function of the bile duct is to take bile from the liver {hepatocytes} to the gall bladder for storage.
The function of the common bile duct is to take bile from the gall bladder to the duodenum.
The types of cells found in the bile duct is inactive cuboidal cells.
