سورة الطلاق : The Divorce Flashcards
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَطَلِّقُوهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَأَحْصُوا الْعِدَّةَ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ ۖ لَا تُخْرِجُوهُنَّ مِن بُيُوتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ إِلَّا أَن يَأْتِينَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ ۚ وَتِلْكَ حُدُودُ اللَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَتَعَدَّ حُدُودَ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُ ۚ لَا تَدْرِي لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ أَمْرًا ﴿١﴾
Oh prophet (s.a.w), when you people divorce women, divorce them at a time when the period of عدة may start and count the period of عدة and fear Allah (s.w.t) your Lord. Do not expel them from their houses, nor should they go out unless they come up with a clearly shameless act. These are the limits prescribed by Allah (s.w.t). And whoever exceeds the limits prescribed by Allah (s.w.t) wrongs his ownself. You do not know (what will happen in future) it may be that Allah (s.w.t) brings about a new situation thereafter.
فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ فَارِقُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَأَشْهِدُوا ذَوَيْ عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ وَأَقِيمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَن كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ ۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجًا ﴿٢﴾
So when they (the divorced women) have almost reached their term, then either retain them with fairness or part with them with fairness and make two just men from amongst you witnesses (of your either decision) and (oh witnesses) keep your testimony upright for the sake of Allah (s.w.t). That is what anyone who believes in Allah (s.w.t) and The Last Day is advised to do. Whoever fears Allah (s.w.t), He brings forth a way out for him.
وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ ۚ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدْرًا ﴿٣﴾
And provides him (with what he needs) from where he does not even imagine. And whoever places his trust in Allah (s.w.t), He is sufficient for him. Surely Allah (s.w.t) is to accomplish His purpose. Allah (s.w.t) has set a measure for everything.
وَاللَّائِي يَئِسْنَ مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ مِن نِّسَائِكُمْ إِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلَاثَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَاللَّائِي لَمْ يَحِضْنَ ۚ وَأُولَاتُ الْأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَن يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ يُسْرًا ﴿٤﴾
And those women from amongst you who have despaired (of further) mensturation, if you are in doubt, their عدة is 3 months. As well as of those who have not yet mensturated. And for those having pregnancy, their term (of عدة) is that they give birth to their child. And whoever fears Allah (s.w.t), He brings about ease for him in his affair.
ذَٰلِكَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ أَنزَلَهُ إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّئَاتِهِ وَيُعْظِمْ لَهُ أَجْرًا ﴿٥﴾
This is the commandment of Allah (s.w.t) that He has sent down to you and whoever fears Allah (s.w.t), He will right off his evil deeds and will give him a huge reward.
أَسْكِنُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنتُم مِّن وُجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَارُّوهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ ۚ وَإِن كُنَّ أُولَاتِ حَمْلٍ فَأَنفِقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتَّىٰ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ فَإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ ۖ وَأْتَمِرُوا بَيْنَكُم بِمَعْرُوفٍ ۖ وَإِن تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُ أُخْرَىٰ ﴿٦﴾
Provide to them (the divorced women) residence where you reside, whatever you find according to your means and do not hurt them to straighten (life for them) and if they are pregnant, spend on them til they give birth to their child. Then if they suckle the child for you, give them their fees. And consult eachother (for determining the fee) with fairness. And if you create a deadlock between you, then another woman will suckle him.
لِيُنفِقْ ذُو سَعَةٍ مِّن سَعَتِهِ ۖ وَمَن قُدِرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهُ فَلْيُنفِقْ مِمَّا آتَاهُ اللَّهُ ۚ لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا مَا آتَاهَا ۚ سَيَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍ يُسْرًا ﴿٧﴾
A man of vast means should spend according to his vast means and anyone whose sustenance is limited should spend from whatever Allah (s.w.t) has given to him. Allah (s.w.t) makes noone liable beyond what He has given to him. Allah (s.w.t) will soon bring ease after a difficulty.
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِ فَحَاسَبْنَاهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيدًا وَعَذَّبْنَاهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا ﴿٨﴾
And how many a township rebelled against the commandment of its Lord and against His messengers (a.s.) so We called them to a severe account and punished them with a punishment that was unimagined by them.
فَذَاقَتْ وَبَالَ أَمْرِهَا وَكَانَ عَاقِبَةُ أَمْرِهَا خُسْرًا ﴿٩﴾
Thus they tasted an evil consequence of an evil act and the end of their conduct was lost.
أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَا أُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۚ قَدْ أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكُمْ ذِكْرًا ﴿١٠﴾
Allah (s.w.t) has prepared a severe punishment, so fear Allah (s.w.t) oh men of understanding. Those who believe Allah (s.w.t) has sent down to you a reminder.
رَّسُولًا يَتْلُو عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ مُبَيِّنَاتٍ لِّيُخْرِجَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ ۚ وَمَن يُؤْمِن بِاللَّهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ قَدْ أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ لَهُ رِزْقًا ﴿١١﴾
A messenger who recites to you the verses of Allah (s.w.t) making clear (the truth) so that He may bring forth those who believe and do righteous deed from the layers of darkness into light and whoever believes in Allah (s.w.t) and acts righteously, He will admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, where in such people will live forever. Allah (s.w.t) has made for him a good provision.
اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ وَمِنَ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ يَتَنَزَّلُ الْأَمْرُ بَيْنَهُنَّ لِتَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا ﴿١٢﴾
Allah (s.w.t) is The One who has created seven skies and their like of Earth. The command descends among them so that you may know that Allah (s.w.t) is Powerful over everything and that Allah (s.w.t) has encompassed.
