سورة نوح : Noah (a.s)

Question 1

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ‎﴿١﴾

Answer 1

We sent Nuh to his people (and said to him): ‘Warn your people before a painful punishment comes to them’.

Question 2

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ‎﴿٢﴾

Answer 2

He said: ‘Oh my people, I openly warn you’.

Question 3

أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ وَاتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ‎﴿٣﴾

Answer 3

That you must worship Allah (s.w.t) and fear Him and obey me.

Question 4

يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ إِذَا جَاءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ‎﴿٤﴾

Answer 4

And Allah (s.w.t) will forgive you your sins and will respite you to an appointed term. Indeed when Allah (s.w.t)’s term comes, it is not deferred if you only know.

Question 5

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِي لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا ‎﴿٥﴾‏

Answer 5

He said: ‘Mu Lord, I have called my people night and day’

Question 6

فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَائِي إِلَّا فِرَارًا ‎﴿٦﴾‏

Answer 6

But my call added only to their flight (from the truth).

Question 7

وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوا أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَاسْتَغْشَوْا ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا اسْتِكْبَارًا ‎﴿٧﴾

Answer 7

Whenever I call them so that You might forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears and wrap their clothes aroung themselves and grew obstinate and waxed proud in extreme arrogance.

Question 8

ثُمَّ إِنِّي دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ‎﴿٨﴾‏

Answer 8

Then I called them loudly.

Question 9

ثُمَّ إِنِّي أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا ‎﴿٩﴾‏

Answer 9

And then I spoke to them in public and spoke to them in private.

Question 10

فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ‎﴿١٠﴾‏

Answer 10

So I said, pray to your Lord for your forgiveness, Indeed He is Very-Forgiving.

Question 11

يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا ‎﴿١١﴾‏

Answer 11

And He will cause The Heavens to rain upon you in abundance.

Question 12

وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَالٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّاتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَارًا ‎﴿١٢﴾

Answer 12

And will help you with riches and sons and will cause gardens to grow for you and cause rivers to flow for you.

Question 13

مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا ‎﴿١٣﴾

Answer 13

What has happened to you that you do not appreciate The Majesty of Allah (s.w.t)?

Question 14

وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ‎﴿١٤﴾

Answer 14

While He has created you in different phases.

Question 15

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا كَيْفَ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ‎﴿١٥﴾‏

Answer 15

Did you not see how Allah (s.w.t) has created 7 Heavens one upon another.

Question 16

وَجَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا ‎﴿١٦﴾

Answer 16

And has made the moon a light therein and made the sun a lamp.

Question 17

وَاللَّهُ أَنبَتَكُم مِّنَ الْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا ‎﴿١٧﴾

Answer 17

And Allah (s.w.t) has caused you to grow well out of the earth.

Question 18

ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا ‎﴿١٨﴾

Answer 18

And He will send you back into it and will bring you forth once again.

Question 19

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا ‎﴿١٩﴾‏

Answer 19

And Allah (s.w.t) has made the earth a spread for you.

Question 20

لِّتَسْلُكُوا مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا ‎﴿٢٠﴾

Answer 20

So that you may go about its broad ways.

Question 21

قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِي وَاتَّبَعُوا مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُ وَوَلَدُهُ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ‎﴿٢١﴾

Answer 21

And said Nuh (a.s.): ‘My Lord, they disobeyed me and followed him whose wealth and children added nothing to him but loss.

Question 22

وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا ‎﴿٢٢﴾

Answer 22

And they devised a mighty plot.

Question 23

وَقَالُوا لَا تَذَرُنَّ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ‎﴿٢٣﴾

Answer 23

And said (to their people) never forsake your gods and never forsake وَدًّا nor سُوَاعًا and يَغُوثَ and نَسْرًا.

Question 24

وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا ‎﴿٢٤﴾

Answer 24

And they had led many astray and (oh my Lord) let not the wrongdoers progress in anything but deviation from the right path.

Question 25

مِّمَّا خَطِيئَاتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا فَأُدْخِلُوا نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ أَنصَارًا ‎﴿٢٥﴾‏

Answer 25

Because of their sins they were drowned and then admitted into The Fire, so they found no helpers for them besides Allah (s.w.t).

Question 26

وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ‎﴿٢٦﴾‏

Answer 26

And said Nuh (a.s): ‘My Lord, do not leave on earth even a single inhabitant (surviving) out of the disbelievers’.

Question 27

إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوا إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا ‎﴿٢٧﴾‏

Answer 27

If you leave them (surviving), they will lead your servants astray and will beget none but a sinful disbeliever.

Question 28

رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا ‎﴿٢٨﴾‏

Answer 28

My Lord, grant pardon to me and to my parents and to everyone who enters my house as a believer and to all the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers but in ruin.
