Take-off Flashcards
When does the Slat Alpha/Speed Lock Function activate?
When the FLAPS lever is set to 0, the slats alpha/speed lock function activates and inhibits slats’ retraction, if:
AOA is above 10.6 °, or
The speed is less than 140 kt.
What is the relationship between flap setting and tail clearance on take-off?
The highest slat/flap configuration provides the highest tail strike margin.
If Slat Alpha/Speed Lock Function is active, when will the slats actually retract to 0°?
The slats retract to 0 when:
- AOA is less than 10.3 °, or
- The speed is above 146 kt.
When is it recommended not to carry out noise abatement procedures?
The flight crew should not conduct the Noise Abatement Departure Procedures (NADP) in significant turbulence, or windshear conditions.
